Mechanical - MW Autonomous Boat
Hull Design & PROPUSAL
- V-shaped catamaran hull designed for enhanced stability and structural rigidity.
- Improvements over previous design:
- Increased hull size for better buoyancy.
- Added a chine to increase volume, hydrostatic force, and underwater displacement.
- Hull material: Fiberglass, chosen for balance of buoyancy, flexibility, and durability.
- Benefits:
- Improved maneuverability.
- Higher load-bearing capacity.
- Reliable performance in varying conditions.
- Propulsion system:
- Two T200 thrusters mounted at the rear of the ASV.
- Provides control over surge, pitch, and yaw.
- A more complex angled-thruster configuration was evaluated but rejected to reduce control complexity and maintain efficiency and reliability.
